World Environment Day, celebrated every year, opens up an immense opportunity for the zoo to inculcate a sense of responsibility among the students and visitors towards environmental conservation and related issues. The event is organized on 5th June and is filled with numerous eco-friendly activities with active participation from schools and colleges. Students actively participate in the activities planned for this day.
Every year, World Environment Day starts with a tree plantation drive. The plantation is done by planting different saplings in the animal enclosure and the off-display area.
Senior zoo officers and zoo staffers oversee the entire program and guide the participating students. At the end of the program, officers interact with the students to make them aware of pertain to wildlife conservation.
