The golden jackal, an abundantly seen canid, is native to parts of Europe and Asia. The coat is yellow to pale gold and brown-tipped but can vary with season and region. The golden jackal prefers dry open country and short grasslands. They are strictly nocturnal in human-dominated landscapes but may be partly diurnal elsewhere.

Globally Asiatic lions are found only in India in Gir wildlife sanctuary across Gujrat state. It lives in small pride comprising 2-5 females with their young. Males join in only to eat and mate. Female lions are the pride's primary hunters & work together to prey upon large mammals.
