(Bungarus caeruleus)
About 3 to 5 feet long, the snake is nocturnal and docile with a bluish-black, shiny body with white bands at an equal distance. These bands are faint towards the head and darker towards the tail. Found mainly in rocky areas, rat holes, and under piles of stones and bushes, these snakes feed mainly on rats, geckos, lizards and other snakes. Females lay 8 to 2 eggs between March and May. The venom is highly toxic.

Globally Asiatic lions are found only in India in Gir wildlife sanctuary across Gujrat state. It lives in small pride comprising 2-5 females with their young. Males join in only to eat and mate. Female lions are the pride's primary hunters & work together to prey upon large mammals.
