Reticulated Python

(Python reticulatus)

This dusky yellow snake with a brown squarish zigzag pattern is nocturnal in habit. Residing in the humid forest of the Nicobar Islands and North-Eastern parts of India. It is regarded to be the longest of its kind. It feeds mainly on small mammals, birds & lizards. Even though it’s a heavy-bodied snake, it is reputed to be a good climber.

Globally Asiatic lions are found only in India in Gir wildlife sanctuary across Gujrat state. It lives in small pride comprising 2-5 females with their young. Males join in only to eat and mate. Female lions are the pride's primary hunters & work together to prey upon large mammals.
